- Few details released.
- Engine choices and body styles are likely to be similar to the pickup trucks.
23. Dodge – Durango
- This big seven passenger SUV gets freshened with a new interior, additional electronics and voice commands.
- Exterior: new LED lighting for running lamps and new tail lamps.
- New 8 speed automatic transmission V6 model that raises gas mileage nearly 13 percent to 25mpg on the highway.
24. Ferrari – LaFerrari
- Interesting facts: Sold all of its 499 limited edition ‘LaFerrari’ hybrid supercars before they even debuted at the Geneva Auto Show in March.
- 6.3 liter V12 engine (950 bhp + electric motor).
- Costs $1.3 million.
25. Fiat – 500L
- Four doors and more room inside.
- Considered a large car because of 5 seats.
- Four cylinder turbocharged engine (160hp).
- Manual or automatic 6 speed transmissions.
- Already on sale in the U.S.
26. Ford – Fiesta
- New trapezoid grille (to match Ford’s other new sedans, Fusion and Focus).
- Ford will offer its 1.0 liter three cylinder ‘EcoBoost’ engine (now only in Europe) made available for the first time in North America.
- 1.0 liter (123hp) and should deliver more than 40mpg on the highway.
- Also new is the sporty Fiesta ST hatchback.
- 1.6 liter ‘EcoBoost’ engine (197 hp) with 6 speed manual transmission.
- ST model has a specially tuned sport suspension, racing seats and aluminum pedals.
- Fiesta (1.6 liter four cylinder base engine (120hp) that gets 32mpg in city and highway driving.
27. Ford – Fusion
- Midsize sedan – other new options include inflatable rear seat belts and cooled front seats in the high-end Titanium trim level.
- 2 new engine choices:
- 1.5 liter turbocharged four cylinder ‘EcoBoost’ (178hp) with 6 speed automatic transmission.
- 1.6 liter I4 ‘EcoBoost’ with manual transmission only (automatic transmission is optional).
- The new engine gets 28 mpg in combined city and highway driving.
- But to get the new engine, you have to upgrade to an SE.
28. Ford – Mustang
- A new version of the sports car which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2014.
- No details have been released.
29. Ford – Transit Connect Wagon
- After a seven-year hiatus, Ford gets back into the minivan market with the Transit Connect Wagon.
- Based on Ford’s Transit Connect commercial van.
- High roof and industrial look but the tapered nose and trapezoid grille of Ford’s cars.
- Five or seven seat versions and has sliding doors on both sides.
- 2 four cylinder engines offering:
- 2.5 liter.
- 1.6 liter.
- Engines equipped with ‘EcoBoost’ technology (estimated 30mpg or more on the highway).
30. GMC – Sierra
- Completely revamped version of the upscale pickup.
- Like the Chevy Silverado, the Sierra looks a little more rounded and aggressive than the current model.
- 3 revamped engines:
- 4.3 liter V6 (262hp) – can tow a substantial trailer.
- 5.3 liter V8 (325hp).
- 6.2 liter V8 (376hp).
- The engine can switch seamlessly to run on only four cylinders to get better gas mileage.
- Step built into the rear bumper to gain access to the bed and the doors fit into recesses in the body to make the trucks quieter.
- More upscale truck with nicer interior materials.
- Heavy duty version also available.
- Crew cab (standard box – the most popular variation).
31. GMC – Yukon
- New version of the big SUV based on the Sierra underpinnings with the same engines and transmissions.
32. Honda – Accord (Hybrid Version)
- Hybrid version in 2014.
- 49mpg in the city, 45mpg on the highway and 47mpg combined, which would make it the most efficient midsize hybrid on the market.
- New two-motor hybrid powertrain. One motor is fixed to the back of the engine and serves as a generator for the lithium-ion battery, which can power the car in all-electric mode at low to medium speeds. A second motor transfers power to the front wheels and is recharged from regenerative braking.
- 2.0 liter four cylinder engine paired with hybrid system.
- Icy blue accents around the grille and headlights will help you spot them on the road.
- But a plug-in hybrid version of the Accord, which gets 46mpg combined.
33. Honda – Fit
- New version of the subcompact Fit.
- Details hasn’t released yet.
- Fit-based small SUV (shown in concept form at the Detroit auto show in January expected to debut in 2014).
34. Honda – Odyssey
- World’s first in-vehicle vacuum cleaner makes its debut on the updated 2014 Odyssey minivan.
- Styling is a little sharper on the front and rear.
- 3.5 liter V6 engine with 6 speed transmission on all trim levels, improving fuel economy to 19mpg in city driving and 28mpg on the highway (up 1mpg from the previous model, which offered a 5 speed transmission).
- Other features now standard on all trim levels are Bluetooth connectivity, a four-way power passenger seat, and a text-messaging system that lets you hear and respond to incoming texts.
- Odyssey (but you’ll have to pay a lot more for the vacuum cleaner option). That’s only available on the Touring Elite model.
35. Hyundai – Equus
- Some revisions, including a grille with thinner chrome bars and new 19 inch wheels for a sportier look and a revised suspension for better handling.
- Interior – materials have been upgraded and both the instrument panel and the rear console controls have been redesigned to improve their ergonomics. Larger, 7 inch instrument panel display and a larger, 9.2 inch dashboard display with larger and more legible graphics.
- Blind spot detection system (standard).
- 5.0 liter V8 engine (429hp) remains the same, and so does the fuel economy.
- 18mpg in combined city and highway driving.
- Available in July.
36. Infiniti – QX60
- QX60 crossover, previously called the JX35.
- Hybrid version that’s available in both FW and AWD drive.
- Fuel economy and pricing haven’t been released for the hybrid (available in September).
37. Infiniti – Q50
- New to Infiniti’s lineup is the entry-level Q50 (small competitor to the Lexus IS and BMW 3-Series). It has a low, wide look and taut lines.
- 3.7 liter V6 engine (328hp) that gets 20mpg in the city and 30mpg on the highway.
- Hybrid version, which gets an estimated 36mpg on the highway (also available).
38. Jaguar – F Type
- Two-seat, RWD sports convertible.
- Was unveiled at the Paris auto show in 2012 and went on sale in the U.S. earlier this summer.
- Has the company’s most advanced use of lightweight aluminum to date, giving it a stiffer and more dynamic ride.
- 3 new engine choices:
- 3.0 liter V6 (340hp outputs).
- 3.0 liter V6 (380hp outputs).
- 5.0 liter supercharged V8 (495hp).
- 0 to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds (top speed of 186mph).
- All are mated to an 8 speed transmission.
- Interior – modified touch-screen controls and now has physical dials for heating and ventilation.
- Exterior – big grille and vertical headlights that follow the sleek lines of the car. To help the flow, the door handles remain flush with the car until they’re unlocked, and a hidden rear spoiler rises at 60mph and lowers again when the speed drops below 40mph.
39. Jaguar – XJR
- After 4 year absence, top-of-the-line R sport model sedan returns to XJ sedan lineup.
- 5.0 liter V8 engine (550hp) with 502 pound feet of torque mated to an 8 speed transmission.
- 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds.
- New, low-profile 20 inch wheels. ‘Stop-start’ system, which shuts the vehicle down at stop lights, helps save fuel economy, which clocks in at 18mpg in combined city or highway driving.
40. Jeep – Cherokee
- Some software tweaks to the new 9 speed transmission.
- New dramatic look that makes one wonder if it’s a Jeep.
- Ditches the traditional boxy look for a more aerodynamic style and replaces the brand’s round headlights with sharply angled slits and much smaller grille.
- Interior is plush and full of luxury options.
- Replaces the aging Liberty, which was badly in need of an update.
- Standard four-cylinder engine (184hp) that can get up to 31 mpg on the highway.
- Has a system that disengages the rear axle when all-wheel-drive isn’t needed.
- $400 less than the Liberty.
